DRIVE MY CAR

The song about a woman that says she's going to be a famous movie star, and she offers the narrator the opportunity to become her driver, adding "and maybe I'll love you." When he objects that his "prospects are good", she retorts that "working for peanuts is all very fine/but I can show you a better time." When he agrees to her proposal, she admits that she doesn't have a car, "but I've found a driver and that's a start."

The short story is about a winner who goes on a date with a famous tango singer.

LA LETRA /THE LYRICS

Asked a girl what she wanted to be
She said baby, can't you see
I wanna be famous, a star on the screen
But you can do something in between

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you

I told a girl that my prospects were good
And she said baby, it's understood
Working for peanuts is all very fine
But I can show you a better time

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you

I told the girl I could start right away
And she said listen to me I got something to say
I got no car and it's breaking my heart
But I've found a driver and that's a start

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah

EL DISCO / THE RECORD

The album was recorded between October 12th and November 15th, 1965. On december 3rd its released in England with 500,000 copies sold in advance. In the US it's released on Januery 8th, 1966, and it sells 1.2 million copies in nine days.
Despite the haste in which the songs were written and recorded, their quality is remarkable. It's a big change from Help!'s pure pop.
Of the 14 songs, 11 were written by Lennon-McCartnety, 2 by Harrison and one by Lennon-McCartnety-Starkey, something unique.
George will start to experiment with the sittar and the mood of the lyrics will be far away from the teen love which was present in previous albums. To the present day it's considered one of the best albums in the history of Rock'n'Roll

Qué es Rubber Soul / What's Rubber Soul

I always wanted to write, since I was 8 I knew that it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. It's a hard road, and for a while I decided not to walk it, because many frustrations I suffered.
On 2003 I decided to take part of a short story contest. And I won. So I returned to the path I had relinquished.
A little after I heard the song "Drive my car" on my way to work, and a story came to me. I wrote it on my way to work on a scrapbook with a cheap pen. And so, my tribute started to exist.
